Before the Civil Right's Movement and the Supreme Court Case " Brown v. Board of Education ", they had Everything segregated from bathrooms, to water fountains ( as you can see in the picture above ), restaurants, even buses, and plenty more. They were racist mostly in the Southern states more then they were in the Northern States. Based on the Plessy v Ferguson, the Supreme Court concluded that the Louisiana law that said blacks and whites riding in different railroad cars didn't violate the Equal Protection Clause, but they later ruled in Brown v. Board of Education that it did. The law said " Seperate but Equal ". It was a very well-known subject.
